Musician, trumpeter, composer, publisher, recording artist, and band leader. Director of the Inner Peace (student and professional) Orchestra. Facilitator of Music Improv Workshops. Performances throughout America, Canada, and Europe.

1999-2002 California Artist-in-Residence at San José State University, Monroe Middle School (in Campbell, CA), East Side Arts Alliance/Black Dot Artists Collective and McClymonds High School (both in Oakland). 1972, Artist in Residence at Stanford University.
Honorary Titles:
San José's Official Ambassador of Jazz, proclaimed in 1974 by then Mayor Norman Mineta and endorsed by City of San José mayors since. Eddie Gale credited civic minded people like Mr. Robert Stroughter, Sr. for bringing Gale's work in the schools to Mr. Mineta's attention. Thirty years later while he was in the office of United States Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Mineta dedicated a video to Gale thanking him for his continued work in the community.

Training/Education:
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Started music at 8 years old playing trumpet in the First AME Church in the Bedford Stuyvesant Scouts marching bands. Grew up in heart of the New York jazz scene. As a youngster, Gale sat in with Jackie McLean, John Coltrane, Sonny Stitt, Booker Ervin, Illinois Jacquet, etc. Studied trumpet with jazz great trumpeter Kenny Dorham. Also, studied and recorded with piano greats Sun Ra and Cecil Taylor. Independent studies at San José State University ('72-'74).
New York Community Involvement:
In New York, worked with the Youth Leadership Institute (Youth In Action Program) and served on Congressman Adam Clayton Powell's Youth Committee, New York Police Athletics League and as Queens Jazz Society Director.
